Porn Studios Approach the Darnedest People
I saw some of the photos that Kendall Jenner posted for her 18th birthday blur past during a cursory glance of Instagram last night and my first thought was “oh, God, here comes the avalanche.” Sure enough, this morning, the celebrity gossip site TMZ is reporting that at least six adult companies have pinged this young member of the Kardashian clan with offers.
For those who have been living locked up in an ivory tower, Kendall Jenner is the daughter of Kristen Mary Houghton — the ex wife of Robert Kardashian, who represented O.J. Simpson in 1994 — and Olympic champion Bruce Jenner. Kendall’s family includes her half-siblings Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Rob Kardashian, as well as Burt, Casey, Brandon, and Brody Jenner, and full sister Kylie Jenner. Kim Kardashian was Lindsay Lohan’s stylist before she and her sisters Kourtney and Khloé opened a boutique together in Calabasas.
In 2007, a sex tape featuring Kim Kardashian and Norwood’s rapper Ray J surfaced and was bought by Vivid for a million, propelling Kim to the national spotlight. Kim Kardashain settled with Vivid for a sweet $5 million and, not long after, the television channel E! picked the family up for a series that would capture the imagination of the nation. Keeping Up With the Kardashians is currently in its eighth season, with a recent $40 million deal to keep them on the air until 2015. The family makes around $10 million per season. In 2010, the Hollywood Reporter estimated the family’s annual earnings at $65 million. They’ve been criticized for being famous for being famous, but really, they’re famous for monetizing our disgraceful hunger for celebrity gossip and scandal in a brilliant and rather unabashed fashion.
And now little Kendall is legally capable of sexual consent and offers are coming in. Bangyoulater.com is offering $1.8 million to see her get down with a partner of her choice. Brazzers and Babes have also put offers down. Digital Playground is pitching a girl-on-girl encounter to Jenner with AVN and XBIZ-award winning porn star Jesse Jane, whom you may remember from the epic Pirates skin flick. So far, there’s been no response from the birthday girl. Given the national intolerance for cashing in on sex, we’re guessing the answer will be no.
Of course, Jenner isn’t the only one to get pinged by porn studios this year.
Last month, Tori Spelling was approached by Vivid’s Steven Hirsch to release a sex tape she made with her husband Dean on Valentine’s Day in 2009, which Spelling wrote about in her new book Spelling It Like It Is. Spelling told him to get out of town. You may recall that Vivid successfully approached Sydney Leathers, Anthony Weiner’s sexting partner, for a porn spot, which the studio released midsummer.
Also last month, Pippi Longstocking star Tami Erin released her own sex tape with Zero Tolerance Entertainment. She’d initially opposed its release but caved after a media frenzy broke out, causing people to doubt her initial opposition to the release of the footage. Erin has completely owned her sexy-time in the spotlight, hosting a Halloween party at the Hustler Club, where she made out with adult star Joslyn James — one of Tiger Wood’s mistresses.
Joe Francis, creator of the Girls Gone Wild franchise, saw his own sex tape being shopped after it was stolen from his girlfriend’s iPad. Vivid’s Steven Hirsch swept in, buying the rights to tape for an unknown sum, which he turned around and handed to Francis. Let it never be said that there’s no loyalty in adult.
At the beginning of the year, the winner of the Miss Delaware Teen USA pageant, Melissa King, was forced to resign when a porn video from 2012 featuring her surfaced online. Not long after, porn tube giant YouPorn jumped in, offering King $250,000 to tour the world as Miss YouPorn — no sex required. Stars are not frequently approached for positions outside of performing, but it happens — GameLink, the Amazon of porn, reached out to Miley Cyrus last month to direct a porn for them for a cool million. Cyrus, like King, hasn’t replied.
YouPorn also reached out to a man who purchased some storage lockers owned by late Penthouse founder Bob Guccione, and who subsequently found some nudes of Arnold Schwarzenegger among other treasures. They offered $150,000 in January, but so far, the web has seen nothing. YouPorn has a standing blank check offer to anyone who can get “intimate footage” of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Prince Harry, it should be noted, got a multi-million offer from Vivid last year. “We’d like to offer you the opportunity to become the coolest prince of all time,” Steven Hirsch wrote, assuring the royal that the crown jewels would not be “minimized.”
Vivid released a “leaked” sex tape featuring porn star James Deen and Farrah Abraham, who became known after appearing on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom. The skin flick Backdoor Teen Mom got Abrams $10,000 and thirty percent of sales — the more standard pay rate for such things. If that sounds like nothing, think again: TMZ reported she netted $120,000 in royalties in only 30 days. Deen was paid up-front and doesn’t appear to be collecting royalties.
PureMature.com swept in with an offer this summer to the disgraced chef Paula Deen, promoter of bad diets and racist remarks. The letter they sent her reminded her that she’s a smoking, over-65 MILF — Mom I’d Like to Fuck — and offered her “6 figures for very little work.”
The one season MTV quickie Buckwild, a reality series depicting rural life, made some headlines this year when star Jesse J started shopping a sex tape made with costar Shae Bradley. In April, a judge sided with Bradley, however, and ordered the destruction of the video. Meanwhile American Idol: Season 8 contestant Nathaniel Marshall, has embraced gay porn. Performing as Jadyn Daniel, he’s already made a splash for ExtraBigDicks.com.
