Things are starting to heat up now that we have the polar vortex well behind us, but the arrival of allergy season can’t really be celebrated without a nod to upcoming summer fashions. With that in mind, we bring to you the bikini to end all bikinis: the necronomikini.

Bloodlust Productions is an online shop that works in props and special effects, bringing their talents with silicone and latex to the consumer through swimwear, clothing and accessories. Two years ago they debuted this horrific beauty, based on the bound-in-flesh occult magic textbook called the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, which appears as the main antagonist in the Evil Dead cult movie franchise.

The notion of such a book first captured our imaginations through the works of H.P. Lovecraft, which described it as a history of the primordial beings who’d come before the human race, and a means to summon them. Lovecraft is said to have come up with the name by somewhat unacademically squishing the Greek words for “dead,” “law” and “book” together into something that sounded “right” — thus, Necronomicon.
